G SERIES
Based on our late model large case GM, Ford or Mitsubishi housings, the tried-and-true G series of alternators are our best sellers. Reasonably priced and very durable, these units feature solid copper custom rectifiers for great durability. 16 diodes, 6 phase technology, highly efficient radial heat sinks, and premium bearings ensure long life even in hot or abusive conditions. This unit makes 140+ amps at idle, and achieves full output above 2,000 engine RPM.
Most alternators can be ordered to be set up for external voltage regulation. This means that there is no voltage regulator in the alternator, only a wiring harness with positive and negative brush connections. This makes the alternator compatible with the 91102R adjustbale external voltage regulator. (sold seperatly) An alternator that is special ordered this way will not function without an external voltage regulator. Please note that the vehicle's OEM alternator harness will be left disconnected when the 91102R is installed, and may cause check battery lights or other failsafes to be activated on some cars.
Instalation note- As with most high output alternators, this unit will be equipped with a slightly smaller pulley, and will require a 1/2 inch to 1 inch shorter belt for best performance. These belts are available at any local autoparts store.
